Birthdiva, LLC was founded by Shayla Boyd-Gill.. She is a mother of five beautiful children, wife, homeschooling mom, certified Bradley Method® Instructor, birth and postpartum companion (doula), lactation educator and counselor, prenatal bellydance instructor, and entrepreneur.

Shayla enjoyed her birth experiences so much that she wanted to share the beauty of birth with other women. She found out about the joy of assisting women in birth when she was a student at Florida A & M University. Her friends asked her to attend their births and assist them during labor

She believes that birth is a sacred experience. It is a moment in life that can change you forever. Her goal is to help women experience the joy of birth in a loving way.

Shayla is a member of the International Center for Traditional Childbearing (ICTC), Doulas of North America International (DONA), the Babywearing Institute, Real Diaper Industry Association, and the Real Diaper Association.

She graduated from Florida A & M University with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineeering Technology. Although she worked in the construction field for a few years, her feminine intuition consumed her and helped her to realize her life work
